Nicole and Edward both believe that sourcing products HAD to be ethical, and ensured that this was the only way Bamboo Worx would operate. Selecting our manufacturer was key and we chose with great attention to detail, certifying that the factory was met with our ethical obligations. Our factory is monitored and

Bamboo WorX takes our environment seriously, and for that we have ensured our manufacture meets the OEKO-TEX and requirements AMFORI BSCI. Not only does our manufacturer need to align, but also our delivery company (Sendle), packaging company (HeapsGood), our label printers (thermal printer) and even our shipping labels (HeapsGood), meet our requirements to help strive for a greener business.

Let us breakdown what we mean in the above.

OEKO-TEX Standard 100

This ensures that the factory is rigorously tested for harmful substances and ensures high production safety.

AMFORI BSCI

This movement aims to monitor and assess workplace standards are maintained and practiced for both environmental and human rights.

SENDLE

Our logistic company is BCORP certified meaning that Sendle have successfully demonstrated that they commit to being socially and environmentally responsible. Sendle are also 100% Carbon Neutral meaning that they equally balance the CO2 they emit, with supporting projects like regenerating precious forests, replacing old equipment with more efficient technologies, or even training communities in beekeeping. This is formally known as ‘offsetting’.

HEAPSGOOD

Every time we purchase our mailers, shipping labels and stickers from HeapsGood they plant a tree, but only this, the products are all eco friendly. The mailers bags are made from home compostable cornstarch, PLA (vegetable-based plastic material) and PBAT (composting co-polymer).

Even the labels and stickers are eco friendly. They have a special adhesive that can be safely composted without leaving harmful residues (FSC certified, BPA free, EN13432 compliant).

PRINTERS

Our office printers are thermal. This means they use less energy than inkjet printers (we don’t have to heat the ink in order to print). Also forget about wasteful components such a cartridges and ribbons, we like keep our footprint to a minimum.

 IN OFFICE

In our home office, we try and do our bit in order to minimise our footprint. We do this by making use of natural light throughout the day, and at night after work is all done, we turn all the power points off. That’s right Bamboo Worx office is Earth hour every night (but for more than an hour).
